RINGSEND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT MEDIUM VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL UPGRADE
Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant was upgraded to a Population Equivalent of 2.4m people by Uisce Eireann. The Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant is now able to generate 40%-50% of its own energy requirement internally. To facilitate this, the plant's 10KV Medium Voltage System was upgraded. This included the following:

Design, Installation, and testing & commissioning of a 4MVA (20/10/0.4kV) Distribution Transformer including MV/LV cabling, control system, and monitoring system.

Design, Installation, and testing & commissioning of a new 6300A Switchgear including the necessary protection and switching devices.

Design, Installation, and testing & commissioning of 2000A, 4000A, and 6300A Bus Ducts.

Design,Testing & commissioning of Auxiliary Control, and RIO panels for the new CHP unit.

Stripping out both existing 2.5MVA (10/0.4KV) transformers labelled GT1 and GT2.

Swapping out GT1 including the cabling system with GT2.

Modification of the existing MV switchgear that caters for 2 No. existing CHP Units, and the main distributor, so that the existing MV switchgear can facilitate the new bus duct installation to the new MV switchgear.

Design, installation and testing of earthing bond as required.

Deign, installation and testing of of the reinstated and additional Lightning Protection System.

Design,installation and testing of Metering Installation.

Design,installation, integration, and testing & commissioning of fire alarm system and cabling etc and relocation of the fire alarm panel.

Design, installation, and testing & commissioning of gas detection system.

Installation, testing & commissioning of protection co-ordination.
MEICA Consulting Engineers Ltd provided onsite Resident engineering consultancy services for Medium Voltage Electrical System Upgrade. Our team
provided onsite Resident Engineering Site Supervision and Design Review services to the Uisce Eireann's Employer's Representative, Egis Consulting Engineers Ltd. This included site supervision of all installation, testing & commissioning onsite.
