Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Longford County Council, is upgrading the water treatment plant at Lough Forbes, Co. Longford. This project will benefit over 19,000 customers supplied by the Longford Central Water Supply Scheme and ensure the continued delivery of a clean, safe drinking water source and increase treatment capacity to allow for future growth in the area. LOUGH FORBES WATER TREATMENT PLANT Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Longford County Council, is upgrading the water treatment plant at Lough Forbes, Co. Longford. This project will benefit over 19,000 customers supplied by the Longford Central Water Supply Scheme and ensure the continued delivery of a clean, safe drinking water source and increase treatment capacity to allow for future growth in the area. The works for this project included: Construct a new clarification (DAF) tank Upgrade the existing sand filters Upgrade the chemical dosing infrastructure Construct a new treated water tank and pumping station Upgrade the monitoring and instrumentation systems Upgrade the control, telemetry and automation processes Upgrade the used wash-water and sludge treatment process. Provide technical advice and support to the Employer's Representative for M&E Building Services design and requirements of Part L of the Building Codes. Develop with the Contractor and Assigned Certifier the M&E Building Services BCAR Inspection Test Plan. Review all the M&E Building Services ancillary for the Assigned Certifier. Onsite Supervision of the Contractor's implementation of M&E Building Services BCAR Inspection Test Plan. Review of Contractor's design for standby generation, (Diesel). Onsite Supervision of the Contractor's installation and commissioning of standby generation We have provided this service on the following water projects: Osberstown Sludge Hub. EIA COORDINATION Environmental Impact Assessment and the production of an Environmental impact Assessment Report is integral to the planning and development process, ensuring that the likely effects of developments on the environment are understood and taken into account. In some cases, it is beneficial to prepare an early Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) to help refine thoughts on the best approach for a project.
